The 2022/23 LaLiga Genuine Santander season has come to an end in the city of Vila-real, and we’re proud to share the achievements of our team, Fundación Celta Integra. Over eight months of competition, more than 1,000 players, coaches, and staff have shown their passion and dedication in this inclusive league, and we want to highlight the values that were reflected both on and off the pitch.
Last weekend, on June 11 and 12, the José Manuel Llaneza Sports City, in Vila-real, was the stage where the last rounds of the 5th edition of LaLiga Genuine Santander were held. The festive atmosphere and the presence of hundreds of fans demonstrate the importance this competition has in the stands, sharing the values of inclusion and sportsmanship we stand for.
In this last phase, Fundación Celta Integra was proclaimed champion of the Fair Play trophy in the Sportsmanship Group, becoming the first team to lift both competition (2018/19 season) and fair play (2022/23) titles. These achievements are a testament to the commitment and sporting ethics our players have shown throughout the competition.
During the exciting weekend, 66 matches were played, and on Saturday night a season-end party was held where all teams shared moments of joy highlighting the true values of LaLiga Genuine Santander, where sharing prevails over competition.
At the closing ceremony, the winners of the 2022/23 season were announced. In addition to Fundación Celta Integra, we congratulate RCD Espanyol for being sports champions in the Sportsmanship Group, RCD Mallorca in the Companionship Group, and CA Osasuna in the Respect Group. We also extend our congratulations to Nàstic de Tarragona in the Companionship Group and Athletic Club Fundazioa in the Respect Group, who took home the Fair Play trophies in their respective groups.
On Sunday, the final parade of the 44 teams, accompanied by their fans, family, and friends, took place, followed by the awarding of medals and trophies to the winning teams. At this ceremony, we were joined by notable representatives from football and institutions, including the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, and the president of Villarreal CF, Fernando Roig, who expressed their gratitude and recognition to everyone involved in this competition.
Once again, LaLiga Genuine Santander has demonstrated the power of football as a tool for change in our society. It teaches us that sport can promote positive values such as camaraderie, sportsmanship, and friendship, without losing sight of competitiveness and passion. We congratulate all teams and participants for their commitment and dedication, and eagerly look forward to the next season of LaLiga Genuine Santander.
