RC Celta is one of the teams that provides most club-trained players to the top 5 European leagues. This study, conducted by CIES, Swiss observatory of football studies, is divided in two categories. One in which 31 European leagues are taken into account, led by Ajax with 71 players, and another one focused on the best 5 leagues (Spain, England, Italy, Germany and France) in which Real Madrid holds the top position, providing 41 players trained in such club.
In this second ranking in which Celta is listed in 30th position -tied with Ajax, Sevilla, Tottenham, Montpellier and Atlanta- with 15 club-trained players from A Madroa who currently play in elite European leagues. Celta is ranked higher than great world-famous clubs of the likes of Liverpool, Feyenoord, Fiorentina or Lazio among others. Without a doubt, this is a splendid acknowledgement of the constant work that the Vigo club has been doing season after season to strengthen and develop its youth academy project.
