After a few minutes of great competition and equality, Sevilla were reduced to a numerical disadvantage twenty minutes into the match after Gueye was sent off for a double yellow card. An expulsion that transferred the control of the ball to the sky blues, who, however, saw how the locals took the lead from a set piece through En-Nesyri near the break. A goal that was almost neutralized immediately after by Tapia in the last action of the first act.
A tone of sky blue dominance that continued in the second half with another clear chance for Carvalhal’s team; this time, Paciência was denied by the woodwork. In the last ten minutes of the game, Sevilla increased their lead with a goal from Acuña from outside the area.
With little time left on the clock, Miguel Rodríguez’s goal came to give faith to a Vigo side that, with nothing to lose, managed to equalize with a header in stoppage time. The Portuguese could even have scored the winning goal, but his shot was saved by Dmitrović.
After this draw, RC Celta sleeps in ninth position with 36 points. The sky blues will receive next Monday, April 17 (21:00) to RCD Mallorca at Abanca Balaídos.
