RC Celta adds enthusiasm, solidity, quality and speed to its defense. Ghanaian centre-back Joseph Aidoo will play for the sky-blue club for the next five seasons following an agreement reached with the player and his home club, Belgian Genk. Aidoo (Ghana, 29 May 1995) is a tough defender with a strong physical presence and excellent ball skills. His size and ability to foresee plays allow him to be a threat in set-pieces and a safe haven in defensive transitions.
He arrived at RC Celta after two seasons at the highest level in Genk, the team with which he won the last Belgian league. In addition, he has half a dozen matches in European competitions. Aidoo has been an international in Ghana’s youth categories and made his senior national team debut last March. Until a few days ago he was in Egypt playing in the African Cup with his national team.
This Friday, presentation to fans
The new sky-blue defender will be introduced this Friday at 19.00 hours in Abanca Balaídos and the fans will be able to access the stands of Tribuna Baja through gates 3 and 8. At the end, Aidoo will sign autographs to the fans on the pitch.
