Iago Aspas: Iago is Iago, but all players are important. The one who goes in between will bring different things and we face it as something natural from the moment he was injured. There are people with talent, enthusiasm and the desire to do well.
System: It is not necessary to modify the system because of Aspas’ injury. The most important thing is not to change the playing principles. We cannot pretend that the rest are like Iago, but neither that he is like the others. I’m very happy with what I’ve seen in training after Christmas, with a lot of competition between players.
Compatibility in midfield: Each match asks for different things and you have to find the players for each match.
Athletic Club: We will see a team that is perhaps more alert. They come from with a good streak with a new coach but we are focusing on how we have to do our things understanding the team we are facing.
Aduriz: He is an experienced player, with quality, but we are more concerned about the capacity of our defenders. We have to be well positioned and very aggressive with the ball.
Jensen: Every day he does things better, but you have to understand that his teammates have been doing them longer. The competition is very fierce because there is so much quality.
January market: We look for stability in the team. I’m sure there are teams with an interest in our players but we want them to stay.
Back ups: I don’t think there is much movement. We can’t close doors but we’re not fighting for anyone right now.
Emre Mor: Emre has trained today for the first time since New Year. He didn’t have a good time during the holidays, suffering from illness. Today he will be medically cleared and will be available.
Dennis: He is training with us even though he is a player from the B team. Since Iago was injured we decided he should be with us and he is training very well.
