RC Celta boss Miguel Cardoso regretted that Real Valladolid had come from behind to win. “When you start to be a longer team, when you don’t go to the clashes with everything or when you’re not committed you’re going to shut down. No matter how much we tried, we didn’t have the ability to take the win. The team has been brave, but you have to be 100% committed. It’s not the first time we’ve put ourselves ahead and lost. Today it was a match that we should have won because we were doing very well until half-time,” he said.
The Portuguese coach wanted to thank the fans for their trip to Valladolid. “It was incredible and it’s a pity we couldn’t give them a victory,” he said.
Captain Hugo Mallo was disappointed by the defeat in Valladolid. “The sensations are bad. We do a lot of things well but at the very least they create an opportunity or they make a goal for us. This cannot be,” he said.
