Robert Mazan, first RC Celta signing in the 2017/2018 winter market, has been officially introduced as sky-blue player this Monday at Balaidos stadium. The left back was accompanied in his first press conference by vice-president Pedro Posada and sporting director Felipe Miñambres. Celta mid-fielder Stanislav Lobotka also didn’t want to miss out on this event, as they are both teammates on the Slovakian national team. “I saw the team play and I liked it a lot. They are not afraid of any team”, stated the new sky-blue player.
Mazan, “an offensive defender” according to Miñambres, noted that he is “physically very fit”, although he acknowledges he is going to need some time to adapt to the team. “On his previous squad and on his national team the playing style is very similar to Celta’s; something that will help him adapt”, added the sports director. After answering the media, the Slovakian defender put on the Celta kit and stepped on the pitch of Balaidos for the first time to undergo the traditional photo session in front of the fans. The leftie has signed with Celta until the year 2022.
