Iago Aspas received this morning in A Madroa the award for the Estrella Galicia Player of the month in December. The sky-blue forward received 45% of the votes cast by the Celtic fans through the club’s social networks, followed by Rafinha with 35% of the votes and Néstor Araujo with 20%.
The academy player, who received the award from Marga Eiras and José Luis Panteón, owners of Cafetería Maracaibo, showed his joy at receiving his first Estrella Galicia award of the season and thanked the fans for their support. “Thanks to the fans and my colleagues for helping me to get this trophy. I hope it will be the first of many,” he said. Miguel Rial attended on behalf of Estrella Galicia.
Looking ahead to the next LaLiga match against Athletic Club, where RC Celta want to get a victory to boost their standing, Iago Aspas stressed the importance of the game. “It’s a very difficult field but we’ve already played good matches there in previous seasons,” he said.
The three-time winner of the Zarra Trophy underlined the importance of the team’s progress. “The last matches in the league have been good” he commented in the press room.
