“I’m very happy and proud to be here. With these words, Fedor Smolov presented himself to the media this Tuesday at the Salon Regio in A Sede. The Russian international pointed out the Spanish league as “the best in the world” and revealed that “when I was a child I followed Celta because of Mostovoi and Karpin”.
Smolov was accompanied in his presentation as a sky blue player by the vice-president Pedro Posada and the sport director Felipe Miñambres. The Russian footballer praised “the quality of this team” and assured that the goal scoring figure of this season “is not a reflection of reality”. The new Celta forward also had good words for Iago Aspas, “a star and a very intelligent player”, with whom he is looking forward to sharing minutes on the pitch.
