Celta Fortuna’s manager, Claudio Giráldez, will assume control of the first team starting this Wednesday, following a day off, with a training session scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Cidade Deportiva Afouteza. A product of the Vigo club’s youth academy, Giráldez will debut as the head coach of RC Celta this Sunday in Seville, where they will face the Andalusian team at 2 p.m. at the Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.
Originally from Porriño, Giráldez progressed from coaching RC Celta’s youth team in the División de Honor to the reserve team during the 2022/2023 season. Despite leading a notably young squad, he successfully secured a spot in the promotion playoffs.
Currently, after 27 matches, Celta Fortuna ranks fifth with 47 points. Fredi Álvarez, coach of Celta C – Gran Peña, will take over Giráldez’s responsibilities with the RC Celta B (Fortuna) team.
