RC Celta picked up their first point of the season in a historically complicated stadium, where the sky blues have not won since 2013/14. Coudet’s team faced a very tough, intense and confident opponent in their field that put the celtico team against the ropes.
The Vigo side, who had a couple of good chances that they failed to take advantage of, withstood the onslaught of an opponent that, especially in the first half, could have done a lot of damage to the Olivian team. An immense Matías Dituro in the RC Celta goal accumulated a good number of meritorious saves, including a dubious penalty that he saved with his foot to keep the score level.
The sky blue players claimed a handball inside the red and red area, but the referee did not see any punishable action. The negative note of the match came in the final minutes, when Kevin Vázquez suffered a hard blow that forced him to leave the field, leaving the team with a man down after the completion of the three change windows.
The RC Celta puts a point in his locker and already thinks about fighting for the victory next day against Athletic Club in Abanca Balaídos.
