These are three golden points. The victory signed by Celta B at SD Compostela’s home means an important leap for Onésimo’s team in the race to get into the promotion phase to the Second Division. The sky-blue team defeated the santiagueses with a double by Manu Justo and now have 27 points. At the end of the day, the team from Vigo occupies the second position in the standings and mathematically avoids the possibility of falling into the relegation spots.
A hard-earned victory for the Celta team. The match was soon in front with two early goals by Manu Justo: the first in the fifth minute from Josipovic’s pass in what was the first arrival of Celta B to the rival area, and the second in the ninth minute assisted by Sergio Carreira. SD Compostela did not sit back and reacted strongly to the Vigo goals. The Costa Rican goalkeeper Patrick Sequeira had to do his best to prevent the rival from closing the gap, something that became inevitable shortly before the break, when Miki put the 1-2 on the scoreboard.
The second half was again demanding for Celta B, who had few but clear chances that they failed to take advantage of. The locals did their best to equalize, but the team coached by Onésimo managed to impose themselves with effort, discipline and sweat. RC Celta’s B team receives RC Deportivo in Barreiro next day, the next to last match of the league and therefore is considered as a key to reach promotion.
